biography
Tobias worked in industry for Siemens AG and Stettner Group in Germany and France in strategic business development and corporate finance. In 1986 he was recruited by SG Warburg in London where he worked in corporate lending, new product development, and structured and acquisition finance. In 1990 he started an innovative art investment management firm, investing in portfolios of paintings using portfolio management techniques. In 1995 he led the international operations of US Telecoms company, Access World Communications, to create strong European and Asian market positions. In 1997 he then founded the UK independent communications provider, Unica (re-branded from Phoenix Telecom & Technology) which became a leader in integrated communications services which he left in 2001. Prior to starting momentum capital, Tobias worked with a number of venture capital and private equity firms as an independent consultant, using his experience in structuring, scaling and managing enterprises to mentor investee firms.
Tobias speaks fluent German, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese, as well as some conversational Russian and Arabic.
