biography
Rob has an MBA and worked for a number of high-growth companies in the UK and the Far East, primarily in the IT and telecom sectors. He carried this experience into the trade association for the UK IT industry CSSA, where he was marketing director and, from 1995, Director General. While running the CSSA, he represented the IT industry to UK and European legislators, began the Year 2000 campaign group, Taskforce 2000, and founded the Software Business Network, a mentor network for UK based software entrepreneurs. In 1998 he joined EDS as UK Marketing & Strategy Director and subsequently EMEA Director of Global Alliances. In March 2000, he was appointed CEO of InterX plc’s ITNetwork.com, and led its joint venture with Reed Business Information to create what became CW360.com. In September that year he joined InterX’s software business, InterX Technology, as Executive Vice President with responsibility for marketing, business development and alliances that he left in late 2001. Prior to joining momentum capital, Rob worked with a number of software and IT services companies as a mentor and adviser on strategy, marketing, and growth planning. He is currently a member of the CBI E-Business Council, the Parliamentary IT Committee, and the Entrepreneurial Working Party. He speaks frequently at conferences and seminars on business and technology issues.
In addition to his role at momentum capital, Rob pursues mentoring and consulting activities and acts as Non-Executive Director on the boards of numerous companies.
